Environmental protection

Important part of the Environmental protection is being effective in performing field tasks. Sampling, reviewing, auditing and following the planned procedures is simple using the i-Track MSP (Mobile Service Platform) mobile support. i-Track MSP allows one to gather data manually, with (mobile device) integrated microphone, video and photo camera or by connecting to the specialized equipment using almost any existing data transfer protocol.

Field force management fertilized by using i-Track MSP decreases costs and boosts the team performance.
There are numerous cases of undertaking field work correlating environmental protection and care. i-Track MSP may incorporate various means of telemetric and M2M (Machine to Machine) communication in combination with handheld work flow support or it can be operated solely in large or small teams of users – field operators.

Telemetric tracking of fish migration and Sampling

Telemetric tracking of fish migration
Fish migration tracking: monitoring the spawning migration, food and winter shelters migrations, retreats from predators…
Fish are tracked at the pass through the fish trail at hydroelectric power plants, at another type of transition (slide) and at natural waterways (spawning ground).

Fish migration tracking scheme
Fish population was tagged with active chips (specialised staff from organisations, which control the fish population condected this). Average chip lifetime is 2 years. Data (Impulz) is transmitted every 5 seconds. The chips are either implanted into a fish or just attached to it.
Equipment used for tracking:
  • Radio receiver and data logger
  • Connection distributor
  • 6 element Yagi antennas with 5 MHz bandwidth
  • Submersible antennas from coaxial cable
  • Active chips (implanted into the fish population)
Software support and integration:
  • Integration of data streams into central archive
  • Central data processing
  • Analytical module with statistical processing functions
  • Module for creating reports
  • Graphical data presentation
  • Reports
  • Mobile support
  • Data capture on tagging
  • The necessary working data
Example of monitoring fish migration at the hydroelectric power plant (upstream):

  • Fish capturing when entering the slide – 10 m into the mouth of the slide
  • In the middle of the slide and
  • 10 m after the slide starts
i-Track MSP mobile support allows one to increase the efficiency and accuracy of the field work. While MSP mobile client incorporates text, video, audio or video data gathering, the workflow designed to meet up with any of numerous field tasks ensures that data are gathered in structural and controlled manner.
Monitoring fish migration at the hydroelectric power plant
It makes sense that tracking the fish migration through the dams is extended with tracking of fish at the arrival into the spawning grounds:
  • Obtaining accurate data on the performance of spawning
  • Data collection on spawning permeability
  • The exact display of fish habits

Urban trees on public areas

Urban trees on public areas
The first step in order to protect and manage the population of urban trees is to create an accurate inventory of present condition. The amount of data to be gathered is rather substantial and the structure of data depends of different criteria. The extreme flexibility of MSP mobile platform allows one to define procedures and data structures in order to collect and geographically define the text and multimedia data needed.
The gathered data are to be transferred into the selected database to be analyzed and used to support the management of the trees population.

User friendly and intuitive graphic interface allows one to fully deploy the i-Track MSP field force management with almost none training
The data gathered need to be actively managed and up to date with the changes in the field. It is necessary to accurately monitor and update the changes of the condition of the trees in the selected area.
The use of MSP allows very precise definition of the field processes to be executed and furthermore allows one to have a mobile access to all the data needed in order to maintain and refresh the data of the selected population of the trees in the selected area.
The formalized processes defined using MSP mobile platform are intended to be used by students performing basic tasks as collecting the data of trees and as well by highly skilled professionals performing most sophisticated mobile operations.
